Western Christian was back in Upland for their home opener against Rim of the World. The Lancers wasted no time getting on the board as Jonah Baldivia broke a few tackles scrambling into the enzone to take an early 7-0 lead. Baldivia added another touchdown on the next drive with the dive option outrunning the defense to the corner of the endzone to put the Lancers in the drivers seat 14-0. The Western Christian defense came up with a huge play as Julian Orozco blocked a punt deep in the Scots territory. Donovan Ramirez made them pay rumbling 7 yards for the touchdown to put Western Christian up 21-0 in the first quarter. In the 2nd quarter Grayson Rodriguez hooked up with Seann Harris on the deep ball 61 yards for the touchdown and the Lancers led 28-0 at the half. Rim of the World couldn't get anything going offensively and the Western Christian running game stayed on point. Aidan Oliva got loose for the 42 yard touchdown and the route was on 35-0. The special teams got in on the action as Baldivia on the punt return turned on the jets going 61 yards for the score. Two more Lancers would score touchdowns as Western Christian eclipsed the 50 point mark for the 2nd week of the season winning 56-8 over Rim of the World. Western Christian will be on the road facing Maranatha Friday September 4th.
